Be the MVP of your Super Bowl Party with these snack tips

Super Bowl parties don’t need to be fancy, but they last a long time. Making sure you have enough food to satisfy a variety of tastes may seem like a daunting task to some. KAM's Chef Linda has some tips to help you make it easier.

  • Keep your menu simple. If you’re planning on wings, don’t feel like you have to have 3 to 4 different kinds of wings and all the fixings. Consider making plain or rotisserie-seasoned wings and offering a variety of sauces – Buffalo, BBQ, Ranch, Honey Mustard, and more. That way your guests can choose what they like and you don’t have to guess how many to make of each. The same can be said for dips. Make one or two and have a variety of things for dipping – chips, pretzels, corn chips, etc.

  • Consider using prepared ingredients. If you’re making guacamole, instead of stockpiling avocados for the week before, buy pre-mashed or frozen avocado and add the rest of your ingredients.

  • Don’t be afraid to have some frozen snacks as backups. Even if you’re known for making everything from scratch, they’ll come in handy if you run out of other things.

  • Don’t forget dessert. But keep it simple. Call your favorite bakery well in advance and order cookies in your team’s colors. Buy the premade fruit tray and add some fresh berries to make it your own. Or, keep it even easier and grab some cupcakes from the bakery counter at your local grocery store. Add some football picks for a fun touch.

  • Let your guests and family help. If someone offers to bring something or make something, let them. Let them know what you’ve planned so they don’t duplicate.

With these tips, you're set to be a Super Bowl party champion. Relax, enjoy the game, and savor every delicious moment!

Here are some fun recipe ideas from Chef Linda.

Looking for an easy dip that goes well with chips, pretzels, or veggies?
Try Chef Linda’s favorite Dill Pickle Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 - 8 oz container whipped cream cheese
  • ¼ cup pickle juice
  • ¼ cup chopped dill pickles or dill pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill

Mix all ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Let sit at least 5 minutes before serving for flavors to meld.

For a make-ahead dessert, try these No-Bake Chocolate Sandwich Cookie Truffles.

Ingredients

  • 25 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese
  • ½ cup chopped white chocolate for dipping
  • ½ cup chopped dark chocolate for chipping
  • Assorted sprinkles for decorating

Pulse the cookies in a food processor until ground into fine crumbs. Add the cream cheese until the mixture forms a large shiny ball on one side of the food processor. Use a medium cookie scoop to make the balls, and roll each in your palm to smooth. Place the finished balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet in the refrigerator while you melt the chocolate.

Place each kind of chocolate in small, microwavable bowls and cook for 30-second intervals until mostly melted. Stir until completely melted. Dip truffles in chocolate and place back on parchment. Add sprinkles or other decorations as desired.

Chocolate will take approximately 30 minutes at room temperature to set. Refrigerate for 10 minutes or freeze for 3 to set more quickly.
