Good news: our Fall Makers Market is back! Join us Sunday, October 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at the KAM Appliances showroom, 6 Aggregate Way in Hyannis (across from BJ's) for a morning of live cooking, local makers, and good company. It's free and open to everyone.
This is our fifth Makers Market and our third year hosting it with the Cape Cod Culinary Incubator's Lee Hill Kitchen. We hold it every spring and fall, and hundreds of you have stopped by our past four events. New this year, we're moving to Sunday morning, so come hungry and plan to shop and sample.
Cooking Live with Local Chefs
Five Cape Cod chefs will be cooking all morning in our working kitchen displays. You can taste what they're making and see Miele, Thermador, Monogram, Sub-Zero Wolf, and XO appliances in action.
- Michael Pillarella, Sub-Zero Wolf. Michael is the Executive Chef at the Wianno Club in Osterville and the chef-proprietor of Plated Perfection, with more than 20 years of experience creating customized luxury dining experiences. He'll be making 12-hour braised short ribs with roasted sweet potato hash and black pepper whipped cream, plus a vanilla roasted apple cake with cinnamon crunch and vanilla cream.
- Chris Shortall, Miele. With 45 years of culinary experience, Chris is the founder of Celebration Thyme Catering, where fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and custom menus are behind every event. He's formerly of The West End. [Menu to come.]
- Kait Leary, Thermador. Kait is the founder of Flowerdoe, a sourdough sweet treat business that grew out of her love of fermentation and sharing homemade baked goods with her yoga community. Her treats have all the benefits of fermentation without the traditional tang. She'll be making sea salt chocolate chip cookies, apple cider donut holes, and a cinnamon roll focaccia with cream cheese frosting.
- Grant Tarbox, Monogram. Grant cooks at The Linden Restaurant at Holly Ridge Golf Course. [Menu to come.]
- Phil Buckley, XO. Phil, of XO Brands, will be out on the patio making treats in the XO Wood-Fired Pizza Oven.
Shop Local at the Outdoor Market
Outside, the Cape Cod Culinary Incubator's Lee Hill Kitchen is hosting a market full of local makers and food entrepreneurs, with artisanal goods, specialty foods, and gift-worthy finds. It's a great chance to meet the people behind some of the Cape's best small businesses and get a head start on holiday gifts.
You can also enter to win one of five giveaway baskets filled with products and treats.
A Celebration of Local Talent
"KAM's Makers Market is about more than great food. It's a celebration of the local talent, creativity, and small businesses that make our community so special," says Erin Cox, Partner Relationship Manager at KAM Appliances. "We're excited to bring this event back for our fifth market and partner again with the Cape Cod Culinary Incubator to welcome the community to KAM for another fun morning of cooking, shopping, and connecting with local makers."
